The Executive Committee of the Society for Health Psychology voted to endorse Dr. Butter's candidacy for APA President. (Updated August 11 2023).
The Society for Health Psychology (APA Division 38) strives to advance contributions of psychology as a discipline to the understanding of health and illness through basic and clinical research and by encouraging the integration of biomedical information about health and illness with current psychological knowledge. The Society promotes education and services in the psychology of health and illness and informs the psychological and biomedical community, and the general public, on the results of current research and service activities in this area.

The Health Care Health Sciences Caucus of APA Council is an important and active group of health psychologists and healthcare researchers that has been successful at writing and passing APA's policy on population health. APA's caucuses are informal structures of governance and offer at truly "grassroots" opinion of APA's elected and appointed leaders.

The Child Adolescent and Family Caucus of APA Council is the highest child-oriented governance structure within APA to offer endorsements for APA President Elect candidates. Division 33 is APA's home for the researchers, clincians, educators, and applied psychologists who work in intellectual developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorders. It is truly an interdisciplinary community of scholars, practitioners, teachers, and administrators with global reach.
